The G20 meeting in St.Peterburg,Russia has failed to hammer a unanimous deal on the best way to solve Syria’s situation even as the death toll escalates. Over 100,000 thousand civilians are estimated to have been killed in a war that has now lasted for close to two years.
While UK parliament had shot down a bill seeking to authorize military strike in Syria,the Prime Minister, David Cameron still maintains a strong stance on Assad’s government asserting that a solution must be sort to end the crisis.
While France is ready to launch a strike and only waiting for a similar move by US with President Obama waiting Congress endorsement of a military action in Syria,Russia and China strongly oppose any military strike citing fear for heavy casualities that would arise with no solution.
Fresh allegations have emerged in the past week over usage of chemical gas,sarin by Assad’s forces to kill innocent civilians. US and France independent investigations sources have confirmed the allegations but Syrian government blames rebels for the use of chemical gas.
Even as the world watches with abated breath what next for Syria after G20 summit fails to solve the impass,many lives continue to be lost. The blame game continues with the international community shortchanged to act.
